Braithwaite
A village west of Keswick, at the foot of Grisedale Pike and the Whinlatter road.
Braithwaite sits just west of Keswick, where the Whinlatter Pass road leaves the valley. It is the ordinary start for Grisedale Pike and a handy base for the Coledale fells, with Keswick a short walk or bus ride away. The Newlands valley, and Catbells, are over the low ridge to the south.
