Caw Fell is a 697 m Wainwright in the western fells, above Wasdale and Ennerdale. A long grassy ridge south of Haycock, above the Bleng, with few paths and a lot of open fell. A usual day starts from Wasdale Head and takes about 6–8 hours. This guide grades it strenuous, judging distance and steepness in fair summer conditions. Read a mountain forecast before a high fell, and turn back if the ridge is in wind, cloud, or ice.
