Friar's Crag
A short lakeside walk from Keswick to a viewpoint on Derwentwater.
Friar’s Crag is a wooded promontory a few minutes’ walk from Keswick’s lakeside. It is the classic first view of Derwentwater, the islands, and Borrowdale. The launch piers are next to it. John Ruskin called the prospect one of the finest in Europe. There is no climb worth the name.
