Loft Crag is a 680 m Wainwright in the central fells, above Great Langdale. The third of the Langdale Pikes, between Pike o’ Stickle and the valley, with a short rocky step near the top. A usual day starts from Great Langdale and takes about 6–8 hours. This guide grades it strenuous, judging distance and steepness in fair summer conditions. Read a mountain forecast before a high fell, and turn back if the ridge is in wind, cloud, or ice.
