Steeple is a 819 m Wainwright in the western fells, above Wasdale and Ennerdale. A sharp little summit on the edge of Scoat Fell, hanging above Ennerdale. The walk to it is long; the top itself is small. A usual day starts from Wasdale Head and takes about 6–8 hours. This guide grades it strenuous, judging distance and steepness in fair summer conditions. Read a mountain forecast before a high fell, and turn back if the ridge is in wind, cloud, or ice.
