Tarn Hows
A landscaped tarn above Coniston and Hawkshead, an easy walk from the car park.
Tarn Hows is a small body of water in the woods between Coniston and Hawkshead, looked after by the National Trust. A level path circles it. Black Fell rises behind. It is the usual short outing when the Old Man is too much, and it is not one of the large lakes.
