Caldbeck
A village on the northern edge of the fells, the start for High Pike and Carrock Fell.
Caldbeck is a village north of Skiddaw, outside the main tourist valleys. It is the start for High Pike and the other northern fells that face the Solway rather than Derwentwater. John Peel is buried here. Keswick is the other side of the Skiddaw range, not a short hop.
