Crag Hill (Eel Crag) is a 839 m Wainwright in the north-western fells, above Braithwaite and Whinlatter. The highest fell around Coledale, above the Force Crag mine site, and the main top of this horseshoe. A usual day starts from Braithwaite and takes about 5–7 hours. This guide grades it moderate, judging distance and steepness in fair summer conditions. Read a mountain forecast before a high fell, and turn back if the ridge is in wind, cloud, or ice.
