Lingmell is a 807 m Wainwright in the southern fells, above Wasdale. The grassy outlier between Wasdale Head and the main Scafell Pike path, with a sudden view of the Pike’s west face. A usual day starts from Wasdale Head and takes about 6–8 hours. This guide grades it strenuous, judging distance and steepness in fair summer conditions. Read a mountain forecast before a high fell, and turn back if the ridge is in wind, cloud, or ice.
