Middle Fell is a 582 m Wainwright in the western fells, above Wasdale. A small fell between Yewbarrow and Seatallan, usually picked up on a walk around the side of Wastwater. A usual day starts from Wasdale Head and takes about 6–8 hours. This guide grades it strenuous, judging distance and steepness in fair summer conditions. Read a mountain forecast before a high fell, and turn back if the ridge is in wind, cloud, or ice.
