Slight Side is a 762 m Wainwright in the southern fells, above Wasdale. The southern shoulder of Scafell, above the upper Esk. It is usually added to a Scafell day rather than climbed on its own. A usual day starts from Wasdale Head and takes about 6–8 hours. This guide grades it strenuous, judging distance and steepness in fair summer conditions. Read a mountain forecast before a high fell, and turn back if the ridge is in wind, cloud, or ice.
