Eskdale
The western valley from Ravenglass to Hardknott, quieter than Langdale or Borrowdale.
Eskdale runs from the coast at Ravenglass up to Hardknott Pass and the foot of the Scafell range. Boot and Dalegarth station are the centre for most visits. The railway is the easy way in. Harter Fell, Hard Knott, and the Roman fort are the local objectives. It is a long way round by road from Keswick or Ambleside.
