Red Pike (Buttermere) is a 756 m Wainwright in the western fells, above Buttermere. The red summit at the west end of the High Stile ridge, above Bleaberry Tarn. Not the Wasdale Red Pike. A usual day starts from Buttermere and takes about 6–8 hours. This guide grades it strenuous, judging distance and steepness in fair summer conditions. Read a mountain forecast before a high fell, and turn back if the ridge is in wind, cloud, or ice.
