Great Rigg is a 766 m Wainwright in the eastern fells, above Grasmere and Ambleside. The grassy top between Fairfield and Heron Pike, on the Grasmere side of the horseshoe. A usual day starts from Grasmere and takes about 6–8 hours. This guide grades it strenuous, judging distance and steepness in fair summer conditions.
